Rostock Central Station evacuated due to bomb threat

Deutsche Bahn stops train traffic in long-distance and regional transport

Police are searching the station with sniffer dogs

Rostock (dpa/mv) - Rostock Central Station was evacuated on Wednesday morning due to a bomb threat. As a result, Deutsche Bahn stopped train traffic in long-distance and regional transport, as a spokesman for the federal police announced. According to the police, the station was evacuated at 9:45 a.m. Police are currently searching the station with sniffer dogs. The federal police did not provide any information about the background of the threat.

Deutsche Bahn announced on Twitter that "there is a delay in train traffic" due to the police operation. Passengers should expect delays and cancellations. Replacement buses are being used on some routes. The police asked for understanding for the measures and emphasized that the safety of passengers and employees has top priority.

The bomb threat in Rostock is the second in a short period of time. On Tuesday, Osnabrück central station had to be evacuated due to a similar threat. However, the all-clear was given after a short time.
