New York Rangers Take Game 7 in Overtime

Leading 3-2 in the series, the New York Rangers came to Pittsburgh needing to win just one of two games. Game 6 didn't go as planned as the New York Rangers lost 5-2. Facing elimination, Igor Shesterkin came up with some big saves in the first period of Game 7. The Rangers took a 2-0 lead in the second period on goals by Artemi Panarin and Mika Zibanejad, but Pittsburgh tied it up in the third period, scoring two goals in the last five minutes.

After a scoreless overtime period, the game went to a shootout. Mika Zibanejad and Chris Kreider scored for the Rangers, while Tristan Jerry stopped all three Pittsburgh attempts to send the Blueshirts to the second round.

Filip Forsberg led the way with two goals and an assist, including the game-winner in overtime.
