Waldorf Native Airman Timothy Goldring Serves Aboard Aircraft Carrier, USS Ronald Reagan

Airman Goldring is a 2020 graduate of North Point High School.

Airman Timothy Goldring, a 2020 graduate of North Point High School, is serving aboard the U.S. Navy’s only forward-deployed aircraft carrier, USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76), in Yokosuka, Japan.

Goldring joined the Navy in May 2021 and completed basic training in Great Lakes, Illinois. He then attended Aviation Ordnanceman “A” School in Pensacola, Florida, before reporting to his first duty station aboard the Ronald Reagan in December 2021.

Timothy Goldring is an aviation ordnanceman.

As an aviation ordnanceman, Goldring is responsible for the assembly, maintenance, and storage of aircraft ordnance, including bombs, missiles, and rockets. He also performs inspections and tests on ordnance to ensure it is safe and operational.

The Ronald Reagan is a Nimitz-class aircraft carrier and is one of the largest warships in the world. The ship is home to more than 5,000 Sailors and Marines and carries a variety of aircraft, including F/A-18 Hornets, F-35C Lightning IIs, and E-2C Hawkeyes.

The Ronald Reagan is forward-deployed to Japan.

The Ronald Reagan is forward-deployed to Japan as part of the U.S. 7th Fleet. The ship is responsible for providing maritime security and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.

Goldring says he is proud to serve aboard the Ronald Reagan and is grateful for the opportunity to represent his country.

Goldring's parents, Tim and Tammy Goldring, are proud of their son's accomplishments and are grateful for the opportunities he has been given through the Navy.
