The suspect, who was identified as a member of the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, was killed in the exchange of gunfire.
The incident began when police went to the suspect's apartment to arrest him on suspicion of planning a terrorist attack.
When the officers entered the apartment, the suspect opened fire on them with a handgun.
The officers returned fire and killed the suspect.
The three injured officers were taken to the hospital, where they are being treated for their injuries.
The AfD has condemned the attack, saying that it was "a cowardly act of violence" that has "no place in our society."
The incident is being investigated by the German Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA).
