Roads Closed in Southbury for Gas Leak

Motorists Advised to Find Alternate Routes

Southbury, CT - Multiple roads in Southbury were closed on Monday afternoon due to a gas leak, according to the Southbury Police Department.

Affected Roads

• Main Street South (Route 172) between I-84 and Middlebury Road
• Middlebury Road between Main Street South (Route 172) and River Road
• River Road between Middlebury Road and South Britain Road

The gas leak was reported around 12:30 p.m. after a construction crew struck a gas line while working on a water main project.

The Southbury Fire Department and Eversource crews responded to the scene and are working to repair the leak.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area and find alternate routes.
