Hospital evacuated after overnight fire
Firefighters battled an overnight blaze at a hospital in Germany, forcing the evacuation of a ward
No injuries were reported in the fire, which started in a patient's room on the third floor of the hospital in the city of Ludwigshafen
The fire broke out at around 11:30 p.m. local time on Tuesday, and firefighters were able to extinguish it within an hour. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
The ward that was evacuated housed 20 patients, all of whom were safely evacuated. The hospital said that the patients were being cared for in other parts of the hospital.
The fire did not cause any major damage to the hospital, and the hospital said that it was operating normally on Wednesday.
The fire is the second to hit a hospital in Germany in recent weeks. On Jan. 25, a fire at a hospital in the city of Cologne killed one person and injured 13 others.
