What Happened

Former Premier League star John Paintsil was involved in a horror car crash in his native Ghana on Monday.

The 40-year-old was driving his SUV when it collided with a tipper truck on the Kasoa-Cape Coast highway.

Injuries

Paintsil was rushed to the Ridge Hospital in Accra, where he is currently receiving treatment for his injuries.

The extent of his injuries is not yet known, but he is said to be in a stable condition.

Investigation

The cause of the accident is under investigation by the Ghana Police Service.

Paintsil's former clubs, including Fulham and West Ham United, have expressed their concern and sent messages of support to the player.

Paintsil's Career

Paintsil is a former Ghanaian international defender who played for a number of clubs in England, including Fulham, West Ham United, and Leicester City.

He also played for Maccabi Tel Aviv in Israel and Santos in Brazil.

Paintsil retired from football in 2016.
