Unbelievable scenes on Friday evening at the Eissporthalle in Bergkamen. In the ice hockey regional league game between EC Bergkamen and ERC Ingolstadt, the game was abandoned in the 26th minute due to a serious injury to an ERC player. The Sunday game against Neusser EV has also been cancelled.
The game had only been running for four minutes when ERC Ingolstadt's Jakub Körner collided with an EC Bergkamen player and crashed heavily into the boards. Körner remained lying on the ice motionless, and medical assistance was immediately called. After several minutes of treatment on the ice, Körner was taken to hospital by ambulance.
