Hopkins Scores Three Touchdowns as Chiefs Stay Undefeated
Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw for 320 yards and three touchdowns, all to wide receiver Tyreek Hill, as the Chiefs remained undefeated with an 34-20 victory over the New York Jets on Sunday.
The Chiefs' defense also played a major role in the victory, forcing four turnovers, including three interceptions of Jets quarterback Zach Wilson.
The Chiefs improved to 8-0 on the season, while the Jets fell to 1-7.
Hopkins was the star of the game for the Chiefs, catching seven passes for 125 yards and three touchdowns.
It was his second consecutive three-touchdown game and his fourth of the season.
Mahomes was efficient in the passing game, completing 24 of 36 passes.
He also rushed for 25 yards on four carries.
The Chiefs' defense was led by linebacker Willie Gay Jr., who had two interceptions and a forced fumble.
Cornerback L'Jarius Sneed also had an interception.
The Jets offense struggled throughout the game, especially after losing starting running back Michael Carter to an ankle injury in the first quarter.
Wilson finished the game with 226 passing yards, two touchdowns, and three interceptions.
Running back Tevin Coleman led the Jets' rushing attack with 71 yards on 13 carries.
The Jets will look to get back on track next week when they host the Indianapolis Colts.
The Chiefs will also be at home next week, hosting the Tennessee Titans.
