Canadian rocker is working on new music to mark his 65th birthday
Canadian rock legend Bryan Adams is set to release a new album to celebrate his 65th birthday. The as-yet-untitled record will be Adams' 15th studio album, and his first since 2019's "Shine a Light".
Adams announced the new album on his social media channels, writing: "I'm excited to announce that I'm working on a new album! It's been a while since my last one, but I've been writing and recording some new songs that I can't wait to share with you. Stay tuned for more news soon."
No release date has been announced for the new album, but it is expected to be released later this year. Adams is also planning to tour in support of the album, with dates to be announced soon.
Adams is one of Canada's most successful musicians, with over 100 million records sold worldwide. He has won numerous awards, including 20 Juno Awards and 15 Grammy Award nominations. His hits include "(Everything I Do) I Do It for You", "Summer of '69", and "Heaven".
Adams was born in Kingston, Ontario, in 1959. He began playing guitar at an early age and formed his first band, Sweeney Todd, in 1975. He signed a record deal with A&M Records in 1980 and released his debut album, "Bryan Adams", in 1980.
Adams' breakthrough album was "Cuts Like a Knife", which was released in 1983. The album spawned the hit singles "Straight from the Heart" and "Cuts Like a Knife". Adams followed up with a string of successful albums in the 1980s and 1990s, including "Reckless" (1984), "Into the Fire" (1987), and "Waking Up the Neighbours" (1991).
Adams has continued to release music in the 21st century, with his most recent album, "Shine a Light", being released in 2019.
