Bayern Lose First Points of the Season
Eintracht Frankfurt hold Bayern Munich to a 1-1 draw
Bayern Munich's perfect start to the Frauen-Bundesliga season came to an end on Sunday as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Eintracht Frankfurt.
The Bavarians took the lead in the 20th minute through Klara Bühl, but Frankfurt hit back just before half-time through Laura Freigang.
Bayern pushed for a winner in the second half, but they were unable to find a way past Frankfurt goalkeeper Merle Frohms.
The result leaves Bayern top of the table on goal difference, but Eintracht Frankfurt are now just one point behind in second place.
Bayern Munich coach Alexander Straus said after the game that he was "not happy" with his team's performance.
"We didn't play well today," he said. "We were too slow and we didn't create enough chances."
Eintracht Frankfurt coach Niko Arnautis was delighted with his team's performance.
"We played very well today," he said. "We defended well and we took our chances."
Bayern Munich will now look to bounce back when they face Turbine Potsdam next weekend, while Eintracht Frankfurt will host Bayer Leverkusen.
