The Materials Information Society ASM International fosters a global community in Materials Science, joining nearly 30,000 members across the world. Since its inception in 1913, ASM International has championed Materials Science in materials research, development, processing, application, sustainability, and much more.
ASM believes in advancing materials science through its members, tirelessly supporting the professional and personal growth of materials scientists, and shares a deep commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) at all levels. The ASM Women in Engineering (WiE) Committee is dedicated to supporting the personal and professional growth of its members and fostering a sense of camaraderie, leadership, and mentorship.
As part of the ASM Women in Engineering’s mission, the committee organizes webinars, which generally take place on the fourth Thursday of each month. The upcoming ASM Women in Engineering webinar will take place on October 27, 2023, at 1:00 PM ET. This webinar will discuss "Technology, Innovation Driving Change," which will feature thought leaders from General Motors and Google.

About the Speakers
Seema Jayaraman is a Senior Research Manager at General Motors. Jayaraman leads the development of foundational research and advanced modeling for computational durability and damage prognosis at GM. Her contributions encompass cooperative research, consortia, and open-source software development with academia, national labs, and industry. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, and a Ph.D. in Theoretical and Applied Mechanics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Donna Auguste is a Senior Staff Engineering Manager at Google. Auguste is a seasoned leader with over 25 years of experience in the semiconductor industry. She is passionate about developing technical talent and fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment. Auguste leads a large engineering organization at Google that delivers high-performance integrated circuits for the next generation of cloud and mobile products. She is an active member of the IEEE and serves on the advisory board of several non-profit organizations. Auguste holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park, and a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University.
