A3/Offenbacher Kreuz: Serious accident with two injured persons

Two people were seriously injured in an accident at the Offenbacher Kreuz on the A3 motorway on Wednesday evening.

The accident occurred at around 7:45 p.m., when a car and a truck collided. The force of the impact caused both vehicles to catch fire.

As per the initial reports, the car was driving in the direction of Cologne when it suddenly swerved and hit the truck, which was driving in the opposite direction.

The two occupants of the car were trapped in the wreckage and had to be rescued by the fire brigade. They were both seriously injured and taken to hospital.

The truck driver was also injured, but only slightly. He was able to get out of his vehicle on his own.

The cause of the accident is still being investigated.

Due to the accident, the A3 was closed in both directions for several hours. Traffic was diverted via the A661 and the A66.
